LOST BLOG - Season 4 - Ji Yeon

BY THE WAY, YOU CAN CLICK ON ANY OF THE PICTURES FOR A LARGER FULL-RESOLUTION SHOT OF IT.

Okay so in this latest episode of LOST, called Ji Yeon, we are focusing on the people on the freighter boat off the coast of the island, and the lives of Jin and Sun, and Sun's pregnancy. This episode is the first one to have the flashes of lives of characters going both forward and backward. It had me confused, but there are flashbacks for Jin and flash-forwards for Sun. The writers and directors of the show are crafty enough where they made the whole hour look like the flashback and the flash-forward look like they were related. They were all related to Sun's flash-forward of being in labor and giving birth to her daughter Ji Yeon, and Jin's falshback where he had only been married to Sun two months and was buying a toy panda for the Chinese ambassador to Korea 's daughter and the birth of the ambassador's grand-son.

As for the people on the boat, we met the captain of the freighter, Captain Gault, and he reveals to Desmond and Sayid that the boat belongs to Penelope's father, Charles Whidmore, and that Ben somehow staged the fake airline crash that made people think that flight 815 crashed off the coast of Indonesia, with 324 dead bodies on board. He also reveals that the crew of the boat are getting an "extreme" case of cabin fever and that there have been issues with that. We meet Regina, who is reading an upside down book, and she later kills herself by jumping in the ocean wrapped in chains to go down. We also see a blood splatter on the wall, from what appears to be a suicide of a crew member, in a room that was being offered to Sayid and Desmond as quarters.

Regina...

toy store and the GIANT DANISH (Denmark flag) chevron on the back wall... related to the Danish Hanso Corporation (Alvar Hanso, the CEO of the Hanso corp., executive ties to Charles Whidmore, Magnus Hanso, the owner of the Black Rock ship found in the middle of the jungle on the island, and Tovard Hanso, the person who eventually had ownership of the ledger/journal of the first mate of the Balck Rock)!!! Oh, and Pikachou next to Jin.

the guy that gets in the cab is not the one that knocked his phone out...older and balding...

goodbye panda bear #1
After the ordeal of losing his panda and his broken phone, Jin slams his phone on the ground in the middle of the street, then turns back around and runs back to the toy store. The phone is slammed into the ground into a shadow. We never see anyone in the street with him. He does not acknowledge anyone during any of this. Some people claim that these two shadows are of two of the freighter crew members. How they get this, I have no idea. Anyway, here we see two shadows and the broken phone and part of Jin's shoe...
Jin goes back to the toy store and pays huge money for the "already sold panda" behind the clerk. Shot of Jin's wallet and his ID...

Toy store clerk offers Jin the dragon instead of the already sold panda...
Jin makes the clerk "an offer he can't refuse" for the panda...

Sun and Jin on the island want to defect to Locke's barracks...Kate draws them map (go NW for ~1.5 days)
Kahana freighter
the doctor taking Desmond and Sayid out of brig. see sign by the door...not a friendly ship even for crew members...

some of the other deckhands...
The entry of Captain Gault into the story...
Captain Gault up close...
Captain Gault's room1...note the cool statue on the top shelf of the book case, and the book, "UBoat War" on the shelf (the OTHERS had a submarine, and in German, U-Boat means submarine)

Gault's room 2

Gault's room 3

Gault's room 4
Gault's room 5 and the "black box" (purchased by Charles Whidmore, what the heck is it doing on this freighter?) from the downed airliner that Ben planted by Indonesia to be the fake 815...
Gault's room 6...notice the maps on the wall. There are TWO ISLANDS next to each other, as Ben revealed to Sawyer earlier. These satellite images and the maps, are they of the island we have come to know and love?

Gault's room 7 - what is that gas cylinder by the maps in the corner?

Gault's room 8
Gault's room 9 see the bearded figure by Sayid? Kinda look alike, don't they? And the horns on the top of the door? Do they indicate Sayid is evil, or that the captain is a cowboy type person?
The black box...and notice the ashtray, presuming that the captain is a smoker.
Sun just gave live/awake birth to Ji Yeon
Michael is reavealed to Sayid and Desmond, but unbeknownst to the freighter crew that they already know each other and that Michael is going by the pesudonym, Kevin Johnson (like the famous Phoenix Suns basketball player :) )

The SAME HOSPITAL entry door as Sun's labor scene earlier, but this time with Jin going in to deliver the panda to the ambassador...
The same receptionist nurse and the same badges...same hospital...
the guard outside the ambassador's daughter's hospital room...
Jin finds out the ambassador's new-born grandson is a boy, takes a ribbon from a nearby plant and ties it to the panda's neck and we see Jin's watch again...he fought over it with Michael in season 1 or 2...
The ambassador, his daughter, wife (presumably), and the baby...

Sun's jewelery and wedding ring were removed when she was in labor... hospital name Choogdong
later, we see Sun in her home in Korea after having had the baby...see the picture of her and Jin on the nightstand...
Hurley comes to see Sun and Ji Yeon...
Ji Yeon later on...

A very cool twisted tree in the graveyard where Jin is buried...

Jin's graveyard...
Jin's grave1
Jin's grave 2
Jin's grave 3...what does all that writing say?!
